When you decide to work with a VA, you will gain a partner, not an employee. A partner is someone interested in helping you succeed. An employee will put in the required hours and punch out.

Rates for trained VA’s will be higher than those of an hourly employee. However, your overall costs will probably be lower than costs associated with an employee. You choose how many hours per month you need. You would most likely have to extend set hours to an employee per week, paying for possible down-time.

Ask me - I’ll be glad to share some statistical data with you to show the cost differences.

Take a look at the table below…

With an employee Partnering with a VA
You must provide office space & equipment. Your VA has their own office and equipment.
It's up to you to provide a steady amount of work in order to keep the employee productive. A VA works only the number of hours you need!
You are responsible for paying taxes associated with each employee as well as administering payroll and the taxes associated with it. The VA is responsible for all taxes associated with their business and provides clients with invoices on a monthly basis.
Often, benefits such as insurance, vacation, and time set aside for lunch and breaks during the day must be provided. Your VA is a business owner, just like you. They purchase their own insurance. Also, a client only pays for time when work is actually being done.

The nitty gritty…

I have a two-tiered system. It’s best to choose the retainer system – a minimum of 10 hours per month. Being on a retainer means you secure 10 hours of my time each month. If more time is needed, the extra time is billed at the same rate and added to next month’s invoice. Unused time is not carried over.

This retainer system benefits you by setting aside time each month especially for you. Without a retainer in place, there is no guarantee time will be available.

I also offer a pay-as-you-go (PAYG) service. This might be right for you if you are unsure of how many hours you might need per month. I will be happy to accommodate PAYG after ensuring retainer clients’ needs are met.

Why a minimum of 10 hours/month?

Working with clients for less than that doesn't allow enough time to get to know you and your business well enough to establish a working relationship that will truly benefit you.
